during at the 2nd East African Business and Entrepreneurship

Director of Multilateral in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and East African
Cooperation delivered closing remarks on behalf of the Adolf Mkenda Permanent
Secretary, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, United Republic
of Tanzania at the 2nd East African Business and Entrepreneurship
Conference & Exhibition during the official closing ceremony at
Serena Hotel in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
The core objective in
the East African Community is to pursue prosperity to East African people.
Essentially, by creating more wealth and encourage its fair distribution.
“It is the business
community, collectively, that champion free trade as well as movement of
capital and people.” said Amb. Celestine Mushy.
Mr.John Bosco Rusagara, EABC Board Director appreciate Her Excellency Samia Suluhu Hassan, Vice President of the United Republic of Tanzania. Amb. Dr Augustine Mahiga Minister for Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, United Republic of Tanzania, Hon. Charles Mwijage Minister for Industry, Trade and Investment, United Republic of Tanzania. Hon. Amb. Liberat Mfumukeko Secretary General EAC, Hon. Christophe Bazivamo Deputy Secretary General Productive and Social Sectors East African Community (EAC) Secretariat, who made it to this conference as well as Heads of Investment Promotion Agencies from within EAC for their support, various ministries of the EAC Partner States for their participation, partnership and commitment towards this conference and for the continued support to the EAC Private Sector.
“We will read your views expressed
during your discussions keenly with the views of identifying what more we can
do to strengthen business activities in the region and to speed up wealth
creation for our people” said Amb. Celestine Mushy who noted the
recommendations that arose from the conference.

Business Council (EABC)
The East African
Business Council (EABC) is the apex advocacy body of business associations of
the Private Sector and Corporates from the East African Countries. It was
established in 1997 to foster the interests of the Private Sector in the
Integration process of the East African Community.
EABC’s vision is to be the dynamic
apex body of the private sector in the East African Community, in fostering
sustained economic growth and prosperity in the region.
Being the
representative of Private Sector associations in the region, EABC was granted
observer status in organs and activities of the East African Community (EAC).
