It is with profound shock and dismay that the Board of Directors, Management and Staff announce the Sudden passing on of Mr. Kassim Omar, who until his death was Chairman of the East African Business Council, National Chairman of Uganda Clearing Industry and Forwarding Association(UCIFA) and Chairman of the Uganda Warehousing Receipt system.
Kassim
has been Chairman of the East African Business Council since 16th June 2017
before which he served as a Board Director for several years. He has made
tremendous contribution to the EAC Integration process on issues of Private
Sector growth and development, removal of Non-Tariff Barriers, Improvement of
transport and services along the corridors, modernization of the Ports in the
region among other areas.
Kassim
passed on at Nakasero Hospital after a blood clot operation. It’s a very major
loss to the EAC Business Community, family and friends. Please join us in
prayers for the EABC membership, His family and friends Our prayers are
with his loving wife and children for God’s strength and comfort during this
difficult and trying moment.
