Tanzania
to Host 2nd East African Business and Entrepreneurship Conference &
Exhibition in November 2017.

East African Business and Entrepreneurship Conference & Exhibition has been
postponed to November 2017
Arusha,
Tanzania: September 14th, 2017: The 2nd edition of East
African Business and Entrepreneurship Conference & Exhibition is
co-organized by East African Business Council (EABC), Tanzania Investment
Centre (TIC), Tanzania Private Sector Foundation (TPSF) and the East African
Community (EAC) will take place on 14th to 16th November 2017 in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
The
recent demise of EABC Chairman and the latest developments in the Kenyan
election process are reasons for the postponement of the conference which was
supposed to be held in September but postponed to November.
“It’s
EABC’s utmost objective to ensure, that our stakeholders from all Partner
States are properly involved” said Ms. Lilian Awinja, EABC CEO.
Building on the success of
the 1st edition in 2016 which saw over 300 attendees, the 2nd
edition of East African Business and Entrepreneurship Conference & Exhibition
themed, “Accelerating Industrialization, Innovation and Investment in the EAC”
will again demonstrate the importance of investments and discuss on trade
opportunities in the region. It will feature presentations from industry
leaders and experts in their fields from all across the world.
The East African Business
and Entrepreneurship Conference & Exhibition aims at providing an
opportunity for business to business (B2B) and government to business (B2G)
engagement. It is a platform for financiers and innovators to strengthen
entrepreneurship in the EAC, a regional one-stop center for investment and
trade opportunities.
The three-day conference
will bring together high-level government and private sector decision makers
from the EAC Partner States as well as entrepreneurs and investors from the
region and abroad.
“The conference offers a
platform to promote the EAC as one investment destination and present to
investors many opportunities in the region as well as a large consolidated
market.” said Ms. Lilian Awinja EABC CEO.
This year, the sector
highlights are quite diverse to attract a unique mix of creative people from
diverse entrepreneurial sectors in order to encourage an innovative exchange of
experiences and views from different angles and background and inspire them to
“think out of the box”. The approach of “design thinking” aims at reflecting on
the cross cutting issues in regards to the implementation of the common market
protocol and promoting regional integration by referring to the common cultural
identity. In addition, the East African Diaspora will be strongly engaged to
amplify investment into the region.

Status in the EAC will follow closely the implementation
of the recommendations that will arise from the conference; in order to improve
the business environment in the region.” said Ms. Lilian Awinja, EABC CEO.

Conference & Exhibition was held from the 10th to 13th
October, 2016 in Nairobi, Kenya; under the theme “Scaling up the Spirit and
